Heating and cooling without ductwork

A ductless mini-split is a small heat pump: an outdoor unit connected by a thin refrigerant line to one or more wall-mounted indoor units. It cools in summer, heats in winter, and needs only a small hole through the wall – no ductwork. Can a mini-split heat my home in winter?

Yes. A mini-split is a heat pump, so it heats as well as cools, and modern units work well in our winter temperatures.

How many indoor units do I need?

One for each area you want to control separately. An open room may need one; several bedrooms usually need one each. We help you plan it.

How often do the filters need cleaning?

Rinse the washable filters in the indoor unit every month or two, and have the coils and drain cleaned once a year.

Can I replace window units with a mini-split?

Yes – it is one of the most common reasons people choose a mini-split. It is quieter, more efficient and does not block the window.
